Access to Healthy Foods
When people have access to fresh and nutritious foods throughout their life span, they live longer and healthier lives and have lower risk of chronic disease as children and adults. Without this access, people experience food insecurity.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Advancing science has revealed that positive childhood experiences are important in determining health outcomes. Even one supportive adult can mitigate negative health effects for children who experience potentially traumatic events in childhood. The metrics to the right are health outcomes that the CDC says could be decreased by preventing ACEs.
